With the 21st Century Cures Act dominating the media in the healthcare space, a number of entities are picking up strength. These companies range from the small scale juniors to the big names, and not just those at the cutting edge – industry infrastructure entities are also getting in on the act (pun fully intended).
Here’s an example.
In a just published Form 13, filed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), VWR Corp (NASDAQ:VWR) reported that Generation Investment Management has picked up 6,874,483 of common stock as of 2016-12-19.
The acquisition brings the aggregate amount owned by Generation Investment Management to a total of 6,874,483 representing a 5.2 % stake in the company.
For those not familiar with the company, VWR Corporation is a provider of laboratory products, services and solutions to the life science, general research and applied markets. The Company operates in two segments: Americas and EMEA-APAC. Its Americas segment consists of operations located principally in the United States and Canada, as well as in Puerto Rico, Mexico and select countries in Central and South America, including Costa Rica, Brazil, Argentina and Chile, and includes over 65 facilities located in approximately 10 countries. The EMEA-APAC segment consists of its operations located principally in Europe, as well as in certain Asia-Pacific countries, and includes approximately 100 facilities located in over 30 countries.
A glance at Vwr Corp (NASDAQ:VWR)’s key stats reveals a current market capitalization of $3.30 billion based on 131.55 million shares outstanding and a price at last close of $25.25 per share.
Looking at insider activity, there are a few transactions worth noting.
Specifically, on 2016-09-15, Brocke-Benz picked up 368 at a purchase price of $27.16. This brings their total holding to 10,154 as of the date of the filing.
On the sell side, the most recent transaction saw Madison unload 8,000,000 shares at a sale price of $29.30. This brings their total holding to 45,750,000. .
