Quantum Materials Corp (OTCMKTS:QTMM) shares were down 5.65% to $0.104 in Wednesday’s after-hours trading. The company has a market cap of $34.04 million at 324.06 million shares outstanding. Share prices have been trading in a 52-week range of $0.09 to $0.20.
Quantum Materials Corp is a nanotechnology company that specializes in the design, development, production and supply of nanomaterials, including quantum dots, tetrapod quantum dots and other nanoparticles for a range of applications in televisions, displays and other optoelectronics, photovoltaics, solid state lighting, life sciences, security ink, battery and sensor sectors of the market. The company operates through its subsidiary, Solterra Renewable Technologies, Inc., which is focused on the photovoltaic market.
In a recent press release, the company announced that it would continue working with a leading optical film manufacturer, in a partnership that was originated under an initial joint development agreement.

Over the past year, the company has been able to triple its full-time science and engineering staff with the addition of several patent-holding scientists, and engineering and manufacturing operations specialists. By next month, Quantum Materials Corp will double its lab space at Quantum Materials’ San Marcos, Texas headquarters.
Earlier this month, the company has also been able to partner with Texas-based E&P technology business and is currently developing specialized nanomaterials for use in oil and gas well production optimization, which is a project that is almost complete with its initial phase.
